Govern by typing: cut taxes, nationalize energy, declare a state of emergency. Every order becomes real economic and political consequences. How long can you keep the EQUILIBRIUM?
The developer filed this on the Steam store page. It is not a guess by active.games.
EQUILIBRIUM uses generative AI to power its core gameplay mechanic: the Policy Terminal. LIVE-GENERATED CONTENT When a player types a directive or law in natural language (e.g., "Abolish the luxury car tax"), the AI Engine analyzes the request in real time and generates a structured governmental dossier, including: - Legislative feasibility analysis - Budget impact and financial coverage - Macroeconomic effects (GDP, debt, inflation) - Social and political consensus projections - Parliamentary vote simulation Model used: Anthropic Claude, accessed via API. Guardrails: AI output is constrained to a fixed set of structured fields defined by the developer. All numeric effects are clamped within bounds enforced by the simulation engine, so no AI output can produce values outside the game's defined ranges. The model operates only on the simulation state provided to it and cannot invent game data: commands that cannot be mapped to a valid government action are refused, and the player is offered bounded policy alternatives instead. No image, audio, or user-data generation is involved, and no player data is used to train any model. Because responses are generated at runtime, outputs vary between playthroughs: the same directive may produce different wording and different outcomes. PRE-GENERATED CONTENT The game's background music track was generated using AI tools during development and ships with the game.

This week I disappeared into the engine room and I wanted to finish the job before writing about it. WHAT CHANGED IN V0.8.3 The update is live. You won't see a shiny new screen, but almost everything you do in a game now works di…

Patch notes: the numbers now add up (opens in new tab)
Hey everyone, This update is all about one thing: when the game shows you a number, it should be right. A lot of this came straight from your feedback on Discord and by email, so thank you. Special thanks to Masonator, whose China playthrough found half of these. Parliament and elections Seats always add up now. No more 401 seats in a 400 seat chamber. Chin…

Localization fixes, and thanks for reporting (opens in new tab)
LOCALIZATION FIXES Two days after launch, two players used the in-game feedback button to report text showing up in the wrong language. One was playing in Russian, the other in English as South Africa. They were right. And once I started digging, the problem went further than the two things they pointed at. All of this is fixed and already live. WHAT'S FIXE…
