How we picked them
We track every Early Access game on Steam (more than 11,000 right now) and score how steadily each one updates. To make this list, a game had to be in Early Access for at least 12 months, updated in the last 90 days, and hold at least 200 Steam reviews with 75% or more positive. From there we took the top consistency ratings and kept one game per developer. We left out games that disclose generative AI use on Steam. Update counts include hotfixes and experimental builds, since those are updates too.
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, by PikPok

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days has been in Early Access for about a year and a half and has a consistency score of 100, with updates every month of the past year. In late September, Update #15 added Custom Scenarios, which let you set your starting survivors, shelters, resources and event frequency. Update #16, announced on October 13, brings dogs for your shelter, weapon repair and a reworked shelter defense system.
Nin Online, by Hitspark

Nin Online is a ninja MMORPG that has been in Early Access for about 16 months, with updates in every month of the past year and often several a week. In October Hitspark moved the game's graphics from SFML to Silk.NET and SDL, a major engine upgrade, and added cosmetics, a redrawn mining and lockpicking minigame, new guild perks and a trial of the player-suggested Tailed Beast Essence system.
Devil Spire Falls, by Ithiro Sumi

Devil Spire Falls has been in Early Access for about 16 months and scores 100. What stands out is that players vote on what comes next, and the solo developer ships roughly once a week. October alone brought two new dungeon types, six new monsters, the Archtree and a mysterious tower to explore, and on October 23, rideable boats, sailboats and handcarts.
Solar Nations 2, by Flomgus Games

Solar Nations 2 is a grand strategy game that has been in Early Access for about 21 months, with updates in every month of the past year. The October experimental builds were a gift to modders: new event logic, planet modding and a sample planet orbiting Earth. They also brought notifications for allied wars, cheaper spaceports and more aggressive AI fleets.
Sprocket, by Hamish Dunn

Sprocket, the tank design game, has been in Early Access for over five years and still updated in 11 of the last 12 months. Recent builds upgraded the game engine to Unity 6, added Christie spring suspension with big rendering optimizations, and in October put inline and radial engines on the experimental branch.
World of Sea Battle, by Thera Interactive

World of Sea Battle passed one year in Early Access this month, with updates in 11 of its first 12 months. Update B21 on October 15 reworked the shipyard and ship progression and added new ships and guild benefits. A hotfix followed a week later, and the Halloween event is running until November 7. The team also posted an honest note that the Endless Sea expansion has slipped to spring 2027 at the earliest.
Soulash 2, by Artur Smiarowski

Soulash 2 has been in Early Access for almost three years and updated in 11 of the last 12 months. September's "Economy" update let you pay families to move into your city, a few hotfixes followed, and on October 15 the "Gnomes" update added a new civilization built for magic users.
Starship EVO, by Moonfire Entertainment

Starship EVO is the longest-running game here, in Early Access for over six years, and its developer still posts experimental builds most weeks. October brought research stations, a crusher and mining drills to reward mining and exploring wrecks, plus pipe adapters and conveyor tube adapters, several of them straight from community suggestions.
As We Descend, by Box Dragon

As We Descend, a roguelike deckbuilder, has been in Early Access for about 17 months with updates in every month of the past year. Patch 0.17.1 in October was a performance pass aimed at stuttering in the City, drafting and combat. A hotfix three days later improved stability on older GPUs and added an automatic backup for meta-progression saves.
ReCharge RC: High Voltage, by Hondune Games

ReCharge RC: High Voltage has been in Early Access for about 15 months, with updates every month and the highest review score on this list at 95% positive. Recent updates added a community-made campaign, the option to sell vehicles, a Free Roam Bash mode with its first skatepark map, and on October 11, free roam in multiplayer.
Astatos, by Studio Klondike

Astatos has been in Early Access for almost five years and ships an update every month, usually with a new Hero Skin. This year Studio Klondike finished Chapter II's main story, rebuilt the game on a new Trial engine for more reliable online play, and released the Cato Hero Skin at the end of September.
TaleSpire, by Bouncyrock

TaleSpire, the 3D tabletop game, has been in Early Access for about five and a half years and updated in every month of the past year. October's releases updated the browser behind Symbiotes (its mod system), made Symbiote debugging easier, and added search by creator for community creations. The team has also offered to tag miniatures for creators with big backlogs.
