The knowledge roguelite. Answer questions to hit harder, skip them to die faster. The deeper you go, the more the dungeon punishes ignorance. Bosses shrug off everything but proven knowledge. 98 decks, 7 languages, 67,000 real facts. Guilt-free gaming, with added Anki import/export!
The developer filed this on the Steam store page. It is not a guess by active.games.
Generative AI was carefully used for structuring the majority of content available in the decks, given the vast breadth of the topics/languages available. However, every piece of information was extracted from publicly available curated sources, where AI was used for the re-writing the facts into questions. Also, in general the distractors (wrong answers) are intelligently chosen at runtime based on similar answers of similar length, however it can occur that certain answer pools where too small for reasonable gameplay. For this, fake answers were generated by AI as well, albeit rarely.

Rebalancing Patch (opens in new tab)
A balance-focused update this time. Major Higher early-game difficulty. Act 1 is now a real threat; roughly 1 in 6 first runs end before Act 2 for average players. Damage is spread evenly across all three acts instead of spiking uncontrollably near the end. Steeper ascension ladder. Levels 4–14 are harder, so reaching the top requires consistent skill. Asce…

[p align="start"]This update adds the Trivia Gauntlet, a competitive way to play the run you already know, scored and ranked. Features Major Trivia Gauntlet. Pick a category (12 of them, or All Categories) and a difficulty, then play a full combat run where the facts that charge your cards come from what you picked. It's the normal run, same combat and same…

UI improvements + minor bug fixes (opens in new tab)
Major Shop shows prices (better). Every card and relic now has a price chip. Affordable items render in gold, unaffordable items grey out. Hover shows what you can afford. "Boss in N" actually means something. The countdown now points to the real act bosses (floors 8, 16, 24), not the every-three-floor segment markers that made it useless on floor 1. Combat…
Recall Rogue last shipped a public branch build 3 months ago (Jul 20, 2026).
It got about 1 update per month over the last year and is sporadic (29/100). 3 of the last 6 months had at least one update day. Not enough of a cadence to call it regular.
Not yet, but it is slowing down. The last build or patch note is between 90 and 180 days old.
Recall Rogue: 7 updates in the last 12 months, avg every 5 days. The chart shows the last 12 months, including months with zero patch notes. Counts are dated patch and update posts, not branch builds. The Early Access release on 2026-05-24 falls inside this window.
